Recently, I received an email from one of my Christian brothers consisting of a writing penned by Judge Roy Moore, the former Chief Justice of the Alabama Supreme Court, in which he wrote:<\/p>\n

America the beautiful,
or so you used to be.
Land of the Pilgrims’ pride;
I’m glad they’ll never see.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Babies piled in dumpsters,
Abortion on demand,
Oh, sweet land of liberty;
your house is on the sand.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Our children wander aimlessly
poisoned by cocaine
choosing to indulge their lusts,
when God has said abstain<\/strong><\/p>\n

From sea to shining sea,
our Nation turns away
From the teaching of God’s love
and a need to always pray.<\/strong><\/p>\n

We’ve kept God in our temples,
how callous we have grown.
When earth is but His footstool,
and Heaven is His throne.<\/strong><\/p>\n

We’ve voted in a government
that’s rotting at the core,
Appointing Godless Judges;
who throw reason out the door,<\/strong><\/p>\n

Too soft to place a killer
in a well deserved tomb,
But brave enough to kill a baby
before he leaves the womb.<\/strong><\/p>\n

You think that God’s not angry,
that our land’s a moral slum?
How much longer will He wait
before His judgment comes?<\/strong><\/p>\n

How are we to face our God,
from Whom we cannot hide?
What then is left for us to do,
but stem this evil tide?<\/strong><\/p>\n

If we who are His children,
will humbly turn and pray;
Seek His holy face
and mend our evil way:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Then God will hear from Heaven;
and forgive us of our sins,
He’ll heal our sickly land
and those who live within.<\/strong><\/p>\n

But, America the Beautiful,
If you don’t – then you will see,
A sad but Holy God
withdraw His hand from Thee.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Brethren and friends, Judge Moore’s words ring true because the moral precepts that he writes about can be found in the truth of the inspired Scriptures (John 17:17; cf. Psalm 119:142; Psalm 119:151). If we are to endure as a nation (Proverbs 14:34), we must<\/strong> turn the present tide of moral corruption found in our society by pointing folks in the direction of the inspired Word of God (Acts 17:10-12; 2 Timothy 2:15; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21).<\/p>\n

It’s past time for us to spiritually wake up<\/strong> and boldly stand up<\/strong> for God’s truth! (Romans 13:11-12; 2 Timothy 1:13; Titus 1:9; cf. Acts 20:17-27; Ephesians 6:18-19; Philippians 1:15-20).<\/p>\n
