The soil among the thorns represented those who permit the Word of God in their hearts to be choked by the cares and pleasures of this alluring world (Matthew 13:7 &#8211; NKJV ; Matthew 13:22 &#8211; NKJV).<\/p>\n<p>This is a dangerous possibility for anyone who thoughtlessly responds to Gods Word. The world&#8217;s influence may induce a forgetfulness of spiritual reality and responsibility.<\/p>\n<p>Let&#8217;s ask ourselves, &#8220;Do we allow the attractions of this world to keep us from reading and meditating on Gods Word?&#8221; (cf. Psalm 1:1-2 &#8211; NKJV).<\/p>\n<p>Prayerfully, let us strive to be like the one who:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;hears the Word and understands it, who indeed bears fruit and produces&#8221; (Matthew 13:23 &#8211; NKJV).<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>When the day ends this evening, let it not once be said that we have forgotten God and His Word.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><em>Take time to be holy,<\/em><br \/> <em>Speak oft with thy Lord;<\/em><br \/> <em>Abide in Him always,<\/em><br \/> <em>And feed on His Word.<\/em> W.D.
