{"id":45528,"date":"2022-10-01T01:53:36","date_gmt":"2022-10-01T06:53:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.biblia.work\/sermons\/the-into-sermon-bible-study\/"},"modified":"2022-10-01T01:53:36","modified_gmt":"2022-10-01T06:53:36","slug":"the-into-sermon-bible-study","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.biblia.work\/sermons\/the-into-sermon-bible-study\/","title":{"rendered":"The &#8220;Into&#8221; Sermon &#8211; Bible study"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The following story by an unknown author, illustrates the importance of correctly dividing Gods Word (2 Timothy 2:15 KJV), keeping all subject matter in context (see 4):<\/p>\n<p>Here is a pointed story, which has been told in rhyme,<br \/> About a certain preacher who lived once upon a time.<\/p>\n<p>At one of his appointments, some members  not a few,<br \/> Became sorely troubled about the word INTO.<\/p>\n<p>The good Book says quite plainly, They came UNTO (Acts 8:36 KJV),<br \/> And went down INTO water (Acts 8:38 KJV)  as Bible people do.<\/p>\n<p>This person preached a sermon with zeal and power and might,<br \/> And, to his satisfaction, he set the passage right!<br \/> Into, there, dont mean INTO, but AT or NEAR, or BY.<br \/> They went down TO the water, and got a small supply.<\/p>\n<p>Now, near this place of worship, there lived a Sister Brown,<br \/> Who, by her splendid cooking, had gotten much renown.<br \/> And her delicious coffee! On all the circuit round,<br \/> The preacher said oft boldly, Its like could not be found.<\/p>\n<p>When he would preach a sermon of extra power and length,<br \/> He liked at her good table, to recuperate his strength.<br \/> She was a simple Christian  no better in the land,<br \/> And oft reproved the daring for changing Gods command.<\/p>\n<p>She heard Jones INTO sermon, and thought the matter oer;<br \/> Then asked him home to dinner, as he had done before,<br \/> She ground the well-browned coffee  the kettle steaming hot,<br \/> And put it AT, not INTO, the famous coffee pot.<br \/> She poured for him a cupful  I think she did not sin,<br \/> Why, sister, youve forgotten to put the coffee in!<\/p>\n<p>No, no, dear sir, thats coffee, I ground a good supply,<br \/> And then down by the vessel I put it AT  NEAR BY.<br \/> By logic of your sermon (I thought it very thin),<br \/> If AT, or NEAR, means INTO, I put the coffee IN!<\/p>\n<p>But if you will promise no more such stuff to teach,<br \/> Nor dodge Gods plain command when you attempt to preach,<br \/> Ill go and make some coffee, just to a Bible dot,<br \/> And I will put the coffee INTO the coffee pot!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The following story by an unknown author, illustrates the importance of correctly dividing Gods Word (2 Timothy 2:15 KJV), keeping all subject matter in context (see 4): Here is a pointed story, which has been told in rhyme, About a certain preacher who lived once upon a time.
