With A Point &#8211; Bible study"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The following barbs of wisdom come from The Sword and Staff publication, 2008, Volume 46, Number 2; pg. 13 (appropriate Scriptures and related articles have been added):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You must get right and live right before you can expect to die right (Revelation 14:13).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Strong drink is the devils brew to ensnare, enslave and make a fool of you (Proverbs 20:1; cf. Romans 6:16).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>It is good to take a stand for Christ, but we need to do more than just stand there (1 Corinthians 15:58).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>People who are hard to get along with are likewise people who are not getting along well with the Lord or with themselves (Romans 2:1-5).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Your character is made evident in what you think is laughable (1 Corinthians 13:6).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>What some churches mean when they talk about being relevant, is to accommodate the sinners in their sins (1 Corinthians 5).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>You do not cohabit and live together as man and wife until you are man and wife (Hebrews 13:4).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Procrastination is the thief of time (Ephesians 5:15-16).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The abundant life is not found in the abundance of things (Luke 12:15 NKJV; John 10:10 NKJV).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The more way out a person dresses and mimics the world, the more evident and obvious are his insecurities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Preaching should comfort the distressed and distress the comfortable (2 Timothy 4:2-5).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>If you are a dishonest person, you have destroyed the foundation for all other good traits of character.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>If grace does not make us gracious, and we continue in the crudeness of our sins, it has not accomplished its purpose in our lives (Romans 6:1-2).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>If you are not honest, are you expecting too much in wanting life to treat you fair? (Romans 12:17).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Which is worse  a child afraid of the dark, or an adult afraid of the light? (John 3:19-20).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Count it as a day lost forever wherein nothing good has been accomplished and nothing new learned.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Zeal without knowledge is like a car speeding down the highway at a terrific speed, not knowing where it is going (Romans 10:1-2).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Heaven is a prepared place for a prepared people, and hell is a prepared place for an unprepared people  are you prepared?
