{"id":45669,"date":"2022-10-01T01:57:53","date_gmt":"2022-10-01T06:57:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.biblia.work\/sermons\/who-teaches-our-children-today-bible-study\/"},"modified":"2022-10-01T01:57:53","modified_gmt":"2022-10-01T06:57:53","slug":"who-teaches-our-children-today-bible-study","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.biblia.work\/sermons\/who-teaches-our-children-today-bible-study\/","title":{"rendered":"Who Teaches Our Children Today? &#8211; Bible study"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>When Hannah dedicated Samuel to God, she meant business, because she didnt just take him to the temple for dedication &#8211; she left him there, turning him over to Eli to bring him up in Gods service (1 Samuel 1:20-28).<\/p>\n<p>Looking at Hannahs commitment to God regarding Samuel, a question arises, <strong>Who teaches our children today?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For a few moments of time, lets probe this important question.<\/p>\n<p><strong>1)<\/strong> How many hours of instruction does the electronic mass media, in the form of television, Internet, texting on cell phones and playing video games, provide our children each day?<\/p>\n<p><strong>2)<\/strong> Is it the public school that gets their attention? Do we know what is going on in their classroom? Are there any worldly human philosophies that we need to combat?<\/p>\n<p><strong>3)<\/strong> Perhaps its their peers. Do we realize that as our children grow older, the stronger this influence becomes? Are we giving them a solid moral base so that wise decisions will become natural during their teenage years?<\/p>\n<p><strong>4)<\/strong> Is it the Lord through His word who teaches them? How much time and effort do we spend to make sure our children know that a relationship with the Lord is the basis for their security, peace of mind, and contentment?<\/p>\n<p>We need to dedicate our children in service to the Lord, just as Hannah did with Samuel, through our spiritual instruction and example (Ephesians 6:4; cf. 2 Timothy 1:1-5; 2 Timothy 3:15; Titus 2:1-8).<\/p>\n<p>So, if we are faithful Christians, <strong>who teaches our children today?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Correct Answer:<\/strong> God through His word (1 Samuel 3; cf.
