One of last week’s “Nudges” from The Fellowship Room was, “What is your favorite non-biblical quote?” My favorite non-biblical quote is from William Wordsworths, The World Is Too Much With Us especially the first four lines:<\/p>\n

The world is too much with us; late and soon,
Getting and spending, we lay waste our powers;
Little we see in Nature that is ours;
We have given our hearts away, a sordid boon!<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

As the poem suggests, many human beings are too preoccupied with the material (The worldgetting and spending) and have lost touch with the spiritual and with nature (Colossians 3:1-3; Acts 14:15-17; Acts 17:24-25).<\/p>\n

What a sad commentary on our society today.<\/p>\n
