He is like the small boy who was standing on the cat&#8217;s tail. The mother, hearing the terrible outburst from the cat, called from the next room, &#8220;Tommy, stop pulling that cat&#8217;s tail!&#8221; Tommy yelled back, &#8220;I&#8217;m not pulling the cat&#8217;s tail. I&#8217;m standing on it. The cat is doing the pulling!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Is this not what Adam and Eve did in the garden of Eden in Genesis 3:12-13? Adam blamed God for his sin because God gave him that woman, and blamed Eve for giving him the fruit. Eve, in turn, blamed the serpent for their wrong doing.<\/p>\n<p>Many in the church today have the &#8220;it&#8217;s not my fault&#8221; mentality. They either make excuse or blame someone else for their own sins or shortcomings. Brethren, it is time to take an honest look at ourselves by the standard of God&#8217;s word (2 Corinthians 13:5), look at our sins for what they are, confess them, and ask God to forgive us (1 John 1:9). Only then can we truly be fruitful in the Lord&#8217;s kingdom (John 15:5,7,8; cf.
