As I was driving to purchase some groceries this afternoon, I spotted a church marquee sign with the above words. Another way of expressing the above words would be to say, The Power Of The Gospel Is Used Here; for the power of the gospel saves souls.<\/p>\n
According to the inspired Apostle Paul in Romans 1:16, the gospel is indeed the power [Grk. dunamis; Strongs #1411, from which we derive our English word dynamite] of God for salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.<\/p>\n
This power inherent in the gospel, was used extensively in the first century to save multiple souls (Acts 2:41; Acts 4:1-4; Acts 5:12-14) as well as individual souls (Acts 8:13,25-39; Acts 9:1-20), and it can be used in the twenty-first century in the same manner.<\/p>\n
However, before this soular power can be of any benefit, spiritual seed (Luke 8:11) has to first be sown [planted 1 Corinthians 3:6; cf. Acts 18:1-4); then someone has to water (1 Corinthians 3:6; cf. Acts 18:24-28); then we must allow God to give the increase (Acts 5:1-14).<\/p>\n
