If we’ve ever changed addresses, we’ve probably received or sent a change of address notice. It goes something like this: I will no longer be receiving mail at (fill in the blank). My new address will be (fill in the blank). Thank you for making a note of this change.<\/p>\n

Paul reminded the Colossian brethren that they had experienced “a change of address” and they should share that change with others. They had been moved from one community into a new community. They had been rescued from the kingdom of darkness and been brought into the kingdom of God’s Son (Colossians 1:13).<\/p>\n

Digitally speaking, their old e-mail address had been “sinner@kingdomofdarkness,” but when they became members of the Lord’s church (cf. Acts 2:37-47), their new e-mail address became “saved@kingdomofHisdearSon.”<\/p>\n

In Philippians 3:20, Paul declared to the brethren at Philippi:<\/p>\n

“For our citizenship is in heaven …..<\/strong>“<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

They once were citizens of the world, engaging in worldly lusts and pleasures (Colossians 3:5-10), but they had changed addresses, and should now live worthy of that new address (Philippians 1:27 NASB). He encouraged the brethren in Colosse to walk in wisdom toward those who were outside the faith so that folks could see and hear about the changes (Colossians 4:5-6).<\/p>\n

If we’ve have had “a change of address” recently, let’s tell someone about Jesus (Acts 8:35) and what He’s done for us (Titus 3:4-6).<\/p>\n
