{"id":46742,"date":"2022-10-01T02:31:51","date_gmt":"2022-10-01T07:31:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.biblia.work\/sermons\/a-human-being-or-a-blob-of-tissue-bible-study\/"},"modified":"2022-10-01T02:31:51","modified_gmt":"2022-10-01T07:31:51","slug":"a-human-being-or-a-blob-of-tissue-bible-study","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.biblia.work\/sermons\/a-human-being-or-a-blob-of-tissue-bible-study\/","title":{"rendered":"A Human Being Or A Blob Of Tissue? &#8211; Bible study"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A querist asks, &#8220;How does the Bible view an unborn entity found in a mother&#8217;s womb  as a human being or merely a blob of tissue?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>When Mary (the mother of Jesus) greeted Elizabeth (a relative &#8211; Luke 1:36), who was pregnant with John the Baptizer, Luke records the following response:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;<strong>And it happened, when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, that the babe leaped in her womb&#8230;..<\/strong>&#8221; (Luke 1:41).<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The Greek word used by Luke (a physician &#8211; Colossians 4:14) for the term &#8220;babe&#8221; is &#8220;brephos&#8221; (Strong&#8217;s 1025) which can either refer to an unborn child or a new-born child (cf. Luke 2:12; Luke 2:16; Luke 18:15; Acts 7:19; 2 Timothy 3:15; 1 Peter 2:2).<\/p>\n<p>Luke also uses the same Greek word in Luke 2:12 regarding the birth of our Lord.<\/p>\n<p>Thus we see from the inspired writer Luke, that the entity which resides in the mother&#8217;s womb is indeed <strong>a human being<\/strong>  a baby both before and after birth  not merely blob of tissue as some uninspired humanists view it.<\/p>\n<p>Almighty God condemns those who would seek to take a child&#8217;s life before its birth (cf.
