C. Williams (from the Minister&#8217;s Monthly, November 1961). This very meaningful poem will hopefully give encouragement and blessed assurance to folks who are enduring various trials, tribulations, and pain (2 Corinthians 1-NKJV). <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I walked the path of suffering &#8212; I thought I was alone;<br \/> But soon I learned that others had heartaches like my own.<br \/> A legion came to join me &#8212; an understanding throng;<br \/> To share and bear our burdens &#8212; heal suffering with song.<\/p>\n<p>I found courage in their handclasp &#8212; I found patience in their calm;<br \/> I found hope in faith&#8217;s assurance &#8212; I found healing in their balm.<br \/> I&#8217;m not alone in suffering &#8212; I&#8217;m not alone in tears;<br \/> For those who weep with those who weep can wipe away my tears.<\/p>\n<p>And too, when sore affliction comes &#8212; a dreary, rainy day;<br \/> I look inside my heart and find rich blessings stored away.<br \/> I take them from a treasure chest &#8212; and count them o&#8217;er;<br \/> And think how good God&#8217;s been to men &#8212; why don&#8217;t we trust Him more?<\/p>\n<p>If all were sun and sunshine &#8212; if clouds would never weep;<br \/> Would little flowers lift their heads &#8212; would sowers ever reap?<br \/> The valleys down below us, but emphasize the heights;<br \/> Low-hanging clouds about us are pierced with shafts of light.<\/p>\n<p>If sickness never hindered, and pain ne&#8217;er wrecked our frame;<br \/> Would days of health be cherished, if suffering never came?<br \/> In deeps of life&#8217;s great ocean, may suffering be pearled;<br \/> And in the days of reck&#8217;ning be a gem of heaven&#8217;s world.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Related Articles:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lessons Learned Through Illness<strong> <\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Aches and Pains<\/li>\n<li>The Value Of Human Suffering<\/li>\n<li>A Prayer of the Afflicted: A Study of Psalm 102<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The poem below is the work of A.
