Recently, I discovered a five-finger prayer method we might consider using as a guide when we pray for others:<\/p>\n<p><strong>1)<\/strong> When we fold our hands, our thumb is nearest to us. So let&#8217;s begin by praying for those closest to us  for example, our fellow Christians (Philippians 1:1-5).<\/p>\n<p><strong>2)<\/strong> The index finger is our pointer finger. Let&#8217;s pray for those who teach God&#8217;s word  (Ephesians 6:18-19; Colossians 4:2-3; 1 Thessalonians 5:25), that they might &#8220;point&#8221; others to Christ (cf. Acts 5:42; Acts 8:34-35; Acts 18:24-28).<\/p>\n<p><strong>3)<\/strong> Our middle finger is the tallest. It reminds us to pray for those in authority over us  national and local leaders even our supervisor at work (1 Timothy 2:1-2).<\/p>\n<p><strong>4)<\/strong> The fourth finger is usually the weakest. Let&#8217;s pray for those who are spiritually weak, in trouble, or who are suffering (Gal. 6:1; James 5:13-16).<\/p>\n<p><strong>5)<\/strong> The fifth finger is our little finger. It reminds us of our smallness in relation to God&#8217;s greatness. Let&#8217;s ask Him to supply all our needs (Philippians 4:6; Philippians 4:19).<\/p>\n<p>Whatever prayer method we decide to use, let&#8217;s make sure that we communicate with our heavenly Father <strong>often<\/strong> (Luke 18:1; 1 Thessalonians 5:17).
