Both can cause a disastrous shipwreck. In fact, Paul warns us against <strong>fables and endless genealogies<\/strong> (1 Timothy 1:4) doing just that (1 Timothy 1:19).<\/p>\n<p>Alexander (see 5.) and Hymenaeus were two individuals who opposed the Word of God by placing false teaching in its place, and thus faced spiritual shipwreck (1 Timothy 1:19-20).<\/p>\n<p>Today, biblical truth is not only being questioned in the religious world, in many cases, its being replaced in the church today.<\/p>\n<p>Brethren, our ideologies, opinions, and philosophies must never replace the truth of Gods Word (John 17:17).<\/p>\n<p>God&#8217;s infallible book called the Bible, is still the ultimate guide for our conscience in navigating lifes changing seas (Ephesians 4:11-15; 1 Timothy 1:3-5,18-19; 1 Timothy 3:9).<\/p>\n<p>Let us therefore beware of adding to or taking from (Deuteronomy 4:2; Proverbs 30:6; Revelation 22:18-19).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>There is a striking parallel between a misread compass and false biblical teaching.
