What are we &#8220;saved&#8221; from? When we become saved, do we enter into a relationship with God as a child, or do we just receive conditional promises?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>1)<\/strong> The Greek word for salvation is &#8220;soteria&#8221; and has different meanings, depending on the context.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2)<\/strong> We are saved from our sins (Romans 6:6-7; Romans 6:17-18; cf. John 8:32; 1 Corinthians 7:22; Gal. 5:1). <\/p>\n<p><strong>3)<\/strong>  When we meet the conditions and terms of salvation, we enter into a right relationship with all three members of the Godhead  (Romans 8:13-17; cf. Gal. 3:26-29). Our salvation, however, is conditional, contingent upon our continuing to &#8220;walk in the light&#8221; (or teaching) of God&#8217;s word (1 John 1:7-9; cf.
