Preachers, if we only had one sermon to preach, what would that sermon consist of? We might present a summation emphasizing the very core of the gospel of Christ (1 Corinthians 15:1-4), and yet fail to make the spiritual application most needed by our hearers.<\/p>\n
The question then becomes, “If we had but one sermon to preach, would we strive for a “sermon masterpiece,” or would we preach our sermon considering the lost souls in our audience?”<\/p>\n
Nathan’s sermon was based upon a simple parable that ended with: “Thou art the man” (2 Samuel 12:7 KJV), motivating David to say, “I have sinned against the Lord” (2 Samuel 12:13 KJV).<\/p>\n
If we had but one sermon to preach, let us pray that we would preach a godly message as Nathan did, addressing the spiritual state of our audience one that touched the heart, motivating the soul to say:<\/p>\n
