When the Lord appeared to Saul of Tarsus on the road to Damascus (Acts 9:1-9), he asked two questions. The first was, “Who are You, Lord?” Realizing he was in the presence of the living God, the only other question that mattered was:<\/p>\n
\n“Lord, what do You want me to do?<\/strong>” (Acts 9:6).<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
He recognized that obedience to God’s will for him was to be the central focus of the rest of his life (Matthew 7:21).<\/p>\n
Prayer requests for health, wealth, healing, success, and even wisdom are not wrong, but they can become selfish prayers if they do not flow from a heart determined to obey God (Romans 6:17). Jesus said:<\/p>\n
\n“He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father<\/strong>” (John 14:21).<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
Obedience expresses our love for God and thus enables us to experience His love for us.<\/p>\n
