{"id":47572,"date":"2022-10-01T02:57:32","date_gmt":"2022-10-01T07:57:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.biblia.work\/sermons\/direct-from-the-minting-house-bible-study\/"},"modified":"2022-10-01T02:57:32","modified_gmt":"2022-10-01T07:57:32","slug":"direct-from-the-minting-house-bible-study","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.biblia.work\/sermons\/direct-from-the-minting-house-bible-study\/","title":{"rendered":"Direct From The Minting House &#8211; Bible study"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After mastering the Scriptures and sensing that God had spoken to him again and again through its inspired pages (2 Timothy 3:16), John Bunyan went on to be a preacher and an author of more than sixty books, including his classic allegory, The Pilgrims Progress (see review).<\/p>\n<p>Regarding Bible study, Bunyan once stated:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;<strong>Although you may have no commentaries at hand, continue to read the Word and pray; for a little from God is better than a great deal received from a man. Too many are content to listen to what comes from men&#8217;s mouths, without searching and kneeling before God to know the real truth. That which we receive directly from the Lord through the study of His Word is from the &#8216;minting house&#8217; itself. Even old truths are new if they come to us with the smell of heaven upon them<\/strong>&#8221; (source).<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>John Bunyan knew that the Word of God has the power to &#8220;mint&#8221; us into God&#8217;s own (Romans 1:16; 1 Peter 2:1-10), &#8220;if&#8221; we take the time to study His Word (2 Timothy 2:15 KJV).<\/p>\n<p>The question is, Are we spending the necessary time in the study of Gods word  the Word that comes direct from the minting house?<\/p>\n<p>Brethren and friends, today (and every day) in prayer, let us ask the Lord to give us an understanding of His Word (Colossians 1:9-11; cf. Ephesians 1:15-19; Ephesians 3:1-6).<\/p>\n<p>Then along with the Psalmist, we can declare, <strong>Oh, how I love Your law! It is my meditation all the day<\/strong> (Psalm 119:97; cf.
