The following are seven aspects of the coming judgment of God that are important for us to consider:<\/p>\n
1)<\/strong> The necessity<\/strong> of the judgment Paul begins in 2 Corinthians 5:10 by saying, For we must<\/strong> all.. (emphasis mine). Without the judgment, there can no moral purpose in society. All wrongs must be righted, because the justice of God demands it.<\/p>\n 2)<\/strong> The certainty<\/strong> of the judgment Gods divine plan includes the judgment and its certainty (Acts 17:30-31; cf. Romans 2:1-11; Hebrews 9:27).<\/p>\n 3)<\/strong> The universality<\/strong> of the judgment Before Gods throne, all<\/strong> nations shall be gathered (Matthew 25:31-32; Revelation 20:11-13).<\/p>\n 4)<\/strong> The individuality<\/strong> of the judgment Each individual must give an account of himself before God (Romans 14:12).<\/p>\n 5)<\/strong> The impartiality<\/strong> of the judgment A mans social position, financial standing, or educational achievements will be of no value on the day of judgment. Rather, an individuals works will be the determining factor (1 Peter 1:17; cf. Ecclesiastes 12:14; Matthew 12:36-37).<\/p>\n 6)<\/strong> The thoroughness<\/strong> of the judgment The judgment will not only include the works of man, but also the secret things or motives of the heart ( 1 Corinthians 4:5; cf. Psalm 90:8; Ecclesiastes 12:14; Hebrews 4:12-13).<\/p>\n 7)<\/strong> The finality<\/strong> of the judgment (Matthew 25:46). Life is followed by physical death; physical death is followed by the judgment (Hebrews 9:27); the judgment is followed by eternity and an eternal existence (1 Corinthians 15:50-53; 2 Corinthians 5:1-4).<\/p>\n Because of the certainty<\/strong> of Gods judgment (Hebrews 9:27; Acts 17:30-31), let us “set our house in order” (cf. 2 Kings 18:1; Isaiah 38:1), so that we might always be ready for that day (cf.
