The Rev. Arthur Blessit, mod minister to hippies on Hollywood\u2019s Sunset Strip, made a cross-country cross-carrying journey. It took him\u2014and four members of his rock group, the Eternal Rush\u2014seven months and 3,500 miles to do it. Along the way, Blessit held evangelistic rallies, urging Christians to meet him at the Washington Monument\u2014but not with empty hands. <\/p>\n
\u201cChristians need to come and give something,\u201d he proclaimed. He asked all to bring or send two gifts for the nation\u2019s needy. And those who reached the capital also found a bloodmobile available for a third gift. <\/p>\n
