Liberty! what crimes are committed in thy name!\u201d Of a more sacred name an even more bitter apostrophe could be uttered. The name of the Saviour of men has been used by His votaries to cover the most blasphemous of deeds. <\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal align=right style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt; text-align:right;line-height:normal'>\u2014James Burns<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height: normal'><b>1115<\/b><b> Perpetual Presidency Refused<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-indent: 18.0pt;line-height:normal'>When the Duke of Orleans proposed to make Fontenelle perpetual President of the Academy of Sciences, his reply was, \u201cTake not from me, my Lord, the delight of living with my equals.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal align=right style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt; text-align:right;line-height:normal'>\u2014Horace Smith<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height: normal'><b>1116<\/b><b> Survey For Japanese Emperor<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-indent: 18.0pt;line-height:normal'>An overwhelming majority of the Japanese people want to see the Emperor maintained as the \u201csymbol of the state,\u201d according to a <i>Mainichi Shimbun<\/i> (daily) survey. <\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-indent: 18.0pt;line-height:normal'>Asked how they felt about the Imperial Family, 36 percent of the respondents said they had \u201cno interest.\u201d Thirty-two percent said they had \u201crespect\u201d and 26 percent \u201ca friendly feeling.\u201d Four percent had \u201cantipathy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-indent: 18.0pt;line-height:normal'>Nearly 60 percent of those in their late teens and in their 20s had \u201cno interest\u201d in the Imperial Family while 49 percent of those in their 20s, and 65 percent of those in their 60s or more, had \u201crespect.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-indent: 18.0pt;line-height:normal'>In summary, the survey showed that 80 percent of the polled said they were in favor of continuation of the Emperor as the Constitution provides, while 7% say Emperor should have more authority. <\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height: normal'><b>1117<\/b><b> Emergency Regulations<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-indent: 18.0pt;line-height:normal'>At the time that the Russians were first suspected of putting aggressive missiles in Cuba in 1961, a series of emergency measures were formulated in the event of a full confrontation and possible strategic war. Nikita Khrushchev backed down and withdrew the missiles in 1962, but the emergency measures which were signed into law by the late John F. Kennedy, then President of the United States, still stand. They became a part of the vast EXECUTIVE ORDERS when they were signed on February 16 and 27, 1962. Those emergency documents provide that the President, and any succeeding President, shall have complete and final dictatorial control. <\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-indent: 18.0pt;line-height:normal'>The Executive Orders are to be carried out through the Office of Emergency Planning, and they may be put into effect in any \u201ctime of increased international tension or economic or financial crisis.\u201d So all-inclusive are these orders that a listing of them is provided here:<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal align=center style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt; text-align:center;line-height:normal'>THE EXECUTIVE ORDERS<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-top:0cm;margin-right:0cm;margin-bottom:0cm; margin-left:18.0pt;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-indent:-18.0pt;line-height:normal'><i>Executive Order 10995<\/i>-Take over all communications Media. <\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-top:0cm;margin-right:0cm;margin-bottom:0cm; margin-left:18.0pt;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-indent:-18.0pt;line-height:normal'><i>Executive Order 10997<\/i>-Take over all Electric Power, Petroleum, and Gas fuels and minerals. <\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-top:0cm;margin-right:0cm;margin-bottom:0cm; margin-left:18.0pt;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-indent:-18.0pt;line-height:normal'><i>Executive Order 10998<\/i>-Take over all food resources and farms (including farming machinery). <\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-top:0cm;margin-right:0cm;margin-bottom:0cm; margin-left:18.0pt;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-indent:-18.0pt;line-height:normal'><i>Executive Order 10999<\/i>-Take over all methods of transportation, highways, seaports, etc. <\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-top:0cm;margin-right:0cm;margin-bottom:0cm; margin-left:18.0pt;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-indent:-18.0pt;line-height:normal'><i>Executive Order 11000<\/i>-Mobilization of civilians into work forces under governmental supervision. <\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-top:0cm;margin-right:0cm;margin-bottom:0cm; margin-left:18.0pt;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-indent:-18.0pt;line-height:normal'><i>Executive Order 11001<\/i>-Take over all health, welfare and educational functions. <\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-top:0cm;margin-right:0cm;margin-bottom:0cm; margin-left:18.0pt;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-indent:-18.0pt;line-height:normal'><i>Executive Order 11002<\/i>-Postmaster General (member of President\u2019s cabinet) will operate nationwide registration of all persons. <\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-top:0cm;margin-right:0cm;margin-bottom:0cm; margin-left:18.0pt;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-indent:-18.0pt;line-height:normal'><i>Executive Order 11003<\/i>-Take over all airports and aircraft. <\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-top:0cm;margin-right:0cm;margin-bottom:0cm; margin-left:18.0pt;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-indent:-18.0pt;line-height:normal'><i>Executive Order 11004<\/i>-Take over housing and finance authorities to relocate communities, to build new housing with public funds, designate areas to be abandoned as unsafe, and established New Locations for populations. <\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-top:0cm;margin-right:0cm;margin-bottom:0cm; margin-left:18.0pt;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-indent:-18.0pt;line-height:normal'><i>Executive Order 11005<\/i>-Take over all railroads, inland waterways and public storage facilities. <\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-top:0cm;margin-right:0cm;margin-bottom:0cm; margin-left:18.0pt;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-indent:-18.0pt;line-height:normal'><i>Executive Order 11051<\/i>-Designate responsibilities of office of emergency planning, give authorization to put all other executive orders into effect in times of increased international tension or economic or financial crisis. <\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height: normal'><b>1118<\/b><b> Majority Rule Dangerous<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-indent: 18.0pt;line-height:normal'>All the great injustices of history have been committed in the name of unchecked and unbridled \u201cmajority rule.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-indent: 18.0pt;line-height:normal'>The late Senator James A.
