In the middle of the week, he received a telephone call from the man\u2019s wife. She said, \u201cYou prayed for my husband. He had cancer.\u201d I said, \u201cHad?\u201d <i>Whoa,<\/i> he thought, <i>it\u2019s happened.<\/i><\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-indent: 18.0pt;line-height:normal'>She said, \u201cHe died.\u201d Campolo felt terrible.<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-indent: 18.0pt;line-height:normal'>\u201cDon\u2019t feel bad,\u201d the woman said. \u201cWhen he came into church that Sunday, he was filled with anger. He knew he was going to be dead in a short period of time, and he hated God. He was fifty-eight years old, and he wanted to see his children and grandchildren grow up.<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-indent: 18.0pt;line-height:normal'>\u201cHe was angry that this all-powerful God didn\u2019t take away his sickness and heal him. He would lie in bed and curse God. The more his anger grew toward God, the more miserable he was to everybody around him. It was an awful thing to be in his presence.<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-indent: 18.0pt;line-height:normal'>\u201cAfter you prayed for him, a peace came over him and a joy came into him. The last three days have been the best days of our lives. We\u2019ve sung. We\u2019ve laughed. We\u2019ve read Scripture. We\u2019ve prayed. Oh, they\u2019ve been wonderful days.
