My wife was busy one evening making porcelain dolls at a doll-making class, leaving me at home to watch our two children, Melinda, seven, and Craig, five. While I was chatting with a neighbor on the front porch, the phone rang.<\/p>\n
Craig answered the phone promptly and politely. My pride in him vanished as I heard my son\u2019s response to the caller\u2019s request to speak to my wife: \u201cNo, my mom\u2019s not here. She\u2019s out making a baby. But my dad is here if you want to talk to him.\u201d<\/p>\n
Of course, the phone call was from an elder in our church.<\/p>\n
