A new pastor decided to visit the children\u2019s Sunday school. The teacher introduced him and said, \u201cPastor, this morning we\u2019re studying Joshua.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThat\u2019s wonderful,\u201d said the new pastor. \u201cLet\u2019s see what you\u2019re learning. Who tore down the walls of Jericho?\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI didn\u2019t do it,\u201d said Johnny shyly.<\/p>\n
Taken aback, the pastor asked, \u201cCome on, now, who tore down the walls of Jericho?\u201d<\/p>\n
The teacher said, \u201cPastor, little Johnny\u2019s a good boy. If he says he didn\u2019t do it, I believe he didn\u2019t do it.\u201d<\/p>\n
Flustered, the pastor went to the Sunday school director to talk about the incident. The director, looking worried, said, \u201cWell, sir, we\u2019ve had some problems with Johnny before. Let me talk to him and see what we can do.\u201d<\/p>\n
Really bothered now, the new pastor told the deacons the whole story, including the responses of the teacher and the director. A white-haired gentleman thoughtfully stroked his chin and said, \u201cWell, Pastor, I move we just take the money from the general fund to pay for the walls and leave it at that.\u201d<\/p>\n
