A teacher was helping a kindergarten student put on his cowboy boots. Even with her pulling and him pushing, the little boots didn\u2019t want to go on. By the time they got the second boot on, she had worked up a sweat. She almost cried when the little boy said, \u201cTeacher, they\u2019re on the wrong feet.\u201d She looked, and sure enough, they were.<\/p>\n
It wasn\u2019t any easier pulling the boots off than it was putting them on. She managed to keep her cool as together they worked to get the boots back on, this time on the right feet. He then announced, \u201cThese aren\u2019t my boots.\u201d She bit her tongue rather than get right in his face to scream, \u201cWhy didn\u2019t you say so?\u201d<\/p>\n
Once again, she struggled to help him pull off the boots. No sooner had they gotten the boots off when he said, \u201cThey\u2019re my brother\u2019s boots. My mom made me wear \u2019em.\u201d Now she didn\u2019t know if she should laugh or cry, but she mustered up what grace and courage she had left to wrestle the boots on his feet again.<\/p>\n
Helping him into his coat, she asked, \u201cNow, where are your mittens?\u201d He said, \u201cI stuffed \u2019em in the toes of my boots.\u201d<\/p>\n
