Enjoying Life<\/b><\/p>\n
When the late Nadine Stair, of Louisville, Kentucky, was 85 years old, she was asked what she would do if she had her life to live over again.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019d make more mistakes next time,\u201d she said. \u201cI\u2019d relax. I would limber up. I would be sillier than I have been this trip. I would take fewer things seriously. I would take more chances. I would climb more mountains and swim more rivers. I would eat more ice cream and less beans. I would perhaps have more actual troubles, but I\u2019d have fewer imaginary ones.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou see, I\u2019m one of those people who live sensibly and sanely hour after hour, day after day. Oh, I\u2019ve had my moments, and if I had to do it over again, I\u2019d have more of them. In fact, I\u2019d try to have nothing else. Just moments, one after another, instead of living so many years ahead of each day. I\u2019ve been one of those persons who never goes anywhere without a thermometer, a hot water bottle, and a raincoat. If I had to do it over again, I would travel lighter than I have.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf I had my life to live over, I would start barefoot earlier in the spring and stay that way later in the fall. I would go to more dances. I would ride more merry-go-rounds. I would pick more daisies.\u201d<\/p>\n

Reading the Word<\/b><\/p>\n
It is a common temptation of Satan to make us give up the reading of the Word and prayer when our enjoyment is gone; as if it were of no use to read the Scriptures when we do not enjoy them, and as if it were no use to pray when we have no spirit of prayer. The truth is that in order to enjoy the Word, we ought to continue to read it, and the way to obtain a spirit of prayer is to continue praying. The less we read the Word of God, the less we desire to read it, and the less we pray, the less we desire to pray.<\/p>\n
