The best arguers don\u2019t point their fingers. That\u2019s according to a study reported in Psychological Science<\/i>. The study also said the person who says \u201cwe\u201d the most during an argument suggests the best solutions.<\/p>\n
Researchers from the University of Pennsylvania and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill studied fifty-nine couples. Spouses who used second-person pronouns (you<\/i>) tended to be negative in interactions. Those using first-person plural pronouns (we<\/i>) provided positive solutions to problems.<\/p>\n
The study concluded, \u201c \u2018We\u2019 users may have a sense of shared interest that sparks compromise and other ideas pleasing to both partners. \u2018You\u2019-sayers tend to criticize, disagree, justify, and otherwise teem with negativity.\u201d<\/p>\n
