David Mains, director of Chapel Ministries, was sitting in a dental chair when his orthodontist asked David if he would go with him to see a movie. \u201cI\u2019ve seen this film five times already,\u201d said the orthodontist, \u201cand each time I break down and weep at the same part of the story. I\u2019m hoping you can help me understand why that scene in the movie makes me cry.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cSure,\u201d David said. \u201cWhat movie is it?\u201d<\/p>\n
His orthodontist replied, \u201cTerminator 2<\/i>, with Arnold.\u201d<\/p>\n
When David sat with his friend through the movie, the orthodontist broke down as before during the scene where the Terminator gives his life to save a child.<\/p>\n
Over coffee after the film, the two men talked. The orthodontist hinted at an inner longing for a father\u2019s love. David identified the symbol of sacrificial love, so poignantly displayed in the movie, as a picture of God\u2019s love. \u201cI believe that\u2019s what you are looking for,\u201d David said.<\/p>\n
The orthodontist agreed. Together they bowed in prayer, and the orthodontist received the forgiveness and love of his heavenly Father.<\/p>\n
