When our cat, Clement of Alexandria, goes outside, he looks around as though it\u2019s a jungle, and he is terrified. But when he comes in the house, he lies on the floor between the kitchen and the dining room\u2014where we walk most frequently\u2014and falls asleep in total trust. My wife, Kathy, or I could squash Clement\u2019s head, but he trusts us.<\/p>\n
Our cat lives in complete, total confidence in his human companions. Every time I see Clement just lying there, I say to myself, \u201cThat\u2019s what Jesus wants me to do\u2014to trust him.\u201d The kind of trust the cat shows in us is the kind of trust the Lord Jesus Christ invites from us.<\/p>\n
