Before going to Europe on business, a man drove his Rolls-Royce to a downtown New York City bank, then went in to ask for a loan of $5,000. The loan officer requested collateral. The man said, \u201cHere are the keys to my Rolls-Royce.\u201d<\/p>\n
The loan officer had the car driven into the bank\u2019s underground parking for safekeeping and gave the owner $5,000.<\/p>\n
Two weeks later, the man walked into the bank and asked to settle up his loan and get his car back. \u201cThat will be $5,000 in principal and $15.40 in interest,\u201d the loan officer said. The man wrote out a check, got up, and started to walk away.<\/p>\n
\u201cWait sir,\u201d the loan officer said. \u201cWhile you were gone, I found out you\u2019re a millionaire. Why in the world would you need to borrow $5,000?\u201d<\/p>\n
The man smiled. \u201cWhere else could I safely park my Rolls-Royce in Manhattan for two weeks and only pay $15.40?\u201d<\/p>\n
