{"id":683,"date":"2016-08-15T22:59:56","date_gmt":"2016-08-16T03:59:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.biblia.work\/sermons\/god-provision-of-protection-of\/"},"modified":"2016-08-15T22:59:56","modified_gmt":"2016-08-16T03:59:56","slug":"god-provision-of-protection-of","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.biblia.work\/sermons\/god-provision-of-protection-of\/","title":{"rendered":"God, provision of, protection of"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:6.0pt;line-height:normal'><b>The Parable of Tomorrow<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:3.0pt;text-indent:18.0pt;line-height: normal'>In her poem \u201cThe Parable of Tomorrow,\u201d Ruth Gibbs Zwall offers this description of the Savior\u2019s leading:<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:3.0pt;line-height:normal'>\u201cI looked at the mountain. \u2018It is too hard, Lord,\u2019 I said; \u2018I cannot climb.\u2019  \u2018Take My hand,\u2019 He whispered; \u2018I will be your strength.\u2019  I saw the road, \u2018It is too long, Lord,\u2019 I said; \u2018so rough and long.\u2019  \u2018Take My love,\u2019 He answered; \u2018I will guard your feet.\u2019<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:3.0pt;line-height:normal'>I looked at the sky. \u2018The sun is gone,\u2019 I said; \u2018already the way grows dark.\u2019  \u2018Take the lantern of My Word,\u2019 He whispered; \u2018that will be light enough.\u2019  We climbed. The road was narrow and steep, but the way was bright.  And when the thorns reached out, they found His hand before they touched my own.<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:3.0pt;line-height:normal'>And when my path grew rough,  I knew it was His love that kept my feet from stumbling.  Then I grew very tired. \u2018I can go no farther, Lord,\u2019 I said.  He answered, \u2018Night is gone.<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:3.0pt;line-height:normal'>Look up, My child.\u2019 I looked and it was dawn. Green valleys stretched below.  \u2018I can go on alone now,\u2019 I said\u2014and then I saw the marks.  \u2018Lord, Thou art wounded. Thy hands are bleeding. Thy feet are bruised.  Was it for me?\u2019<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:3.0pt;line-height:normal'>He whispered, \u2018I did it gladly.\u2019  Then I fell at His feet. \u2018Lord, lead me on,\u2019 I cried.  \u2018No road too long, no valley too deep, if Thou art with me.\u2019  We walk together now and shall forever!\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal align=right style='margin-bottom:6.0pt;text-align:right; line-height:normal'>Daily Bread, Tuesday, June 18.<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:6.0pt;line-height:normal'><b>For the Poor<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:3.0pt;line-height:normal'>When Hagar found the bottle spent, And wept o\u2019er Ishmael, A message from the Lord was sent To guide her to a well.<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:3.0pt;line-height:normal'>Should not Elijah\u2019s cake and cruse Convince us at this day, A gracious God will not refuse Provisions by the way?<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:3.0pt;line-height:normal'>His saints and servants shall be fed, The promise is secure; \u201cBread shall be given them,\u201d as He said, \u201cTheir water shall be sure.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:3.0pt;line-height:normal'>Repasts far richer they shall prove, Than all earth\u2019s dainties are; \u2018Tis sweet to taste a Saviour\u2019s love, Though in the meanest fare.<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:3.0pt;line-height:normal'>To Jesus then your trouble bring, Nor murmur at your lot; While you are poor and He is King, You shall not be forgot.<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal align=right style='margin-bottom:6.0pt;text-align:right; line-height:normal'>Olney Hymns, William Cowper, from Cowper\u2019s Poems, Sheldon &amp; Company, New York<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:6.0pt;line-height:normal'><b>Lucy the Dog<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:3.0pt;text-indent:18.0pt;line-height: normal'>My brother Ron had a dog named Lucy. She often would bury all the food Ron gave her, and one time buried the bowl along with the food. She didn\u2019t realize that as long as she belonged to Ron, she would be fed.
