No one reading these scenes can doubt the reality of the figure behind them.<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='line-height:normal'><i>Will Durant<\/i><\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height: normal'>I esteem the Gospels to be thoroughly genuine, for there shines forth from them the reflected splendor of a sublimity, proceeding from the person of Jesus Christ, and of as Divine a king as was ever manifested upon earth.<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='line-height:normal'><i>Johann Wolfgang Goethe<\/i><\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height: normal'>If Mark\u2019s is the Gospel of Christ the suffering Servant, and Luke\u2019s the Gospel of Christ the universal Savior, Matthew\u2019s is the Gospel of Christ the ruling King.<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='line-height:normal'><i>John Stott<\/i><\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height: normal'>Almost our only sources of information about the personality of Jesus are derived from the four Gospels, all of which were certainly in existence a few decades after his death.
