In a letter from prison they wrote: \u201cSince it is the will of the Almighty that we should suffer for his name, we patiently submit; though the flesh may rebel against the spirit, yet the truths of the gospel shall support us, and Christ shall bruise the serpent\u2019s head.<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-indent: 18.0pt;line-height:normal'>We are comforted, for we have faith;<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-indent: 18.0pt;line-height:normal'>we fear not affliction, for we have hope;<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-indent: 18.0pt;line-height:normal'>we forgive our enemies, for we have charity.<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-indent: 18.0pt;line-height:normal'>Do not worry about us, we are happy because of God\u2019s promises and exult in being thought worthy to suffer for Christ\u2019s sake.<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-indent: 18.0pt;line-height:normal'>We do not desire release, but fortitude;<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-indent: 18.0pt;line-height:normal'>we ask not for liberty, but for the power of perseverance; we wish for no change but that which places a crown of victory on our heads.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='line-height:normal'><i>Scobland, Hues and Coomans<\/i><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In 1568 Scotland, Hues and Coomans were arrested in Antwerp, in the Netherlands.
