So they decided to talk to the town sage.<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:3.0pt;text-indent:18.0pt;line-height: normal'>The first man went to the sage\u2019s home and told his version of what happened. When he finished, the sage said, \u201cYou\u2019re absolutely right.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:3.0pt;text-indent:18.0pt;line-height: normal'>The next night, the second man called on the sage and told his side of the story. The sage responded, \u201cYou\u2019re absolutely right.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:3.0pt;text-indent:18.0pt;line-height: normal'>Afterward, the sage\u2019s wife scolded her husband. \u201cThose men told you two different stories and you told them they were absolutely right. That\u2019s impossible\u2014they can\u2019t both be absolutely right.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:3.0pt;text-indent:18.0pt;line-height: normal'>The sage turned to his wife and said, \u201cYou\u2019re absolutely right.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal align=right style='margin-bottom:6.0pt;text-align:right; line-height:normal'>David Moore in Vital Speeches of the Day<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:6.0pt;line-height:normal'><b>New Shoes<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:3.0pt;text-indent:18.0pt;line-height: normal'>Former president Ronald Reagan once had an aunt who took him to a cobbler for a pair of new shoes. The cobbler asked young Reagan, \u201cDo you want square toes or round toes?\u201d Unable to decide, Reagan didn\u2019t answer, so the cobbler gave him a few days.<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:3.0pt;text-indent:18.0pt;line-height: normal'>Several days later the cobbler saw Reagan on the street and asked him again what kind of toes he wanted on his shoes. Reagan still couldn\u2019t decide, so the shoemaker replied, \u201cWell, come by in a couple of days. Your shoes will be ready.\u201d When the future president did so, he found one square-toed and one round-toed shoe! \u201cThis will teach you to never let people make decisions for you,\u201d the cobbler said to his indecisive customer.<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:3.0pt;text-indent:18.0pt;line-height: normal'>\u201cI learned right then and there,\u201d Reagan said later, \u201cif you don\u2019t make your own decisions, someone else will.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal align=right style='margin-bottom:6.0pt;text-align:right; line-height:normal'>Today in the Word, MBI, August, 1991, p. 16<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Absolutely Right!
