I find myself indignant concerning much preaching and teaching which portrays the Christ as a soft and pliant friend of everybody, a painted, plastic figure without any spine and involved in no way with justice.\u2026<\/p>\n
Every one of us is going to be finally accountable to the One who gave us being. We are accountable to the One from whose heart we came and who laid His laws upon us. We are accountable to God!\u2026<\/p>\n
It was the belief in the accountability of man to his maker that made America a great nation. Among those earlier leaders was Daniel Webster whose blazing eyes and fiery oratory often held the Senate spellbound. In those days the Congress was composed of strong, noble statesmen who carried the weight of the nation in their hearts and minds.<\/p>\n
Someone asked: \u201cMr. Webster, what do you consider the most serious thought that has ever entered your mind?\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThe most solemn thought that has ever entered my mind is my accountability to my Maker,\u201d he replied.<\/p>\n
