Catherine Booth was the \u201cmother\u201d of the Salvation Army. \u201cWherever Catherine Booth went,\u201d said G. Campbell Morgan, \u201chumanity went to hear her. Princes and peeresses merged with paupers and prostitutes.\u201d<\/p>\n
One night, Morgan shared in a meeting with Mrs. Booth; and a great crowd of \u201cpublicans and sinners\u201d was there. Her message brought many to Christ.<\/p>\n
After the meeting, Morgan and Mrs. Booth went to be entertained at a fine home; and the lady of the manor said, \u201cMy dear Mrs. Booth, that meeting was dreadful\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWhat do you mean, dearie?\u201d asked Mrs. Booth.<\/p>\n
\u201cOh, when you were speaking, I was looking at those people opposite to me. Their faces were so terrible, many of them. I don\u2019t think I shall sleep tonight!\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWhy, dearie, don\u2019t you know them?\u201d Mrs. Booth asked; and the hostess replied, \u201cCertainly not!\u201d <\/p>\n
\u201cWell, that is interesting,\u201d Mrs. Booth said. \u201cI did not bring them with me from London; they are your neighbors!\u201d<\/p>\n
