He knew that death was near, so he wrote on:<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-indent: 18.0pt;line-height:normal'>\u201cI have fought a good fight\u201d (4:7)\u2014past perfect tense!<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-indent: 18.0pt;line-height:normal'>\u201cI have finished the race\u201d (4:7)\u2014past perfect tense!<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-indent: 18.0pt;line-height:normal'>\u201cMy testimony has been given. I am a martyr and a witness. I have done all that I could for Jesus. The war is over and I will take off my uniform. I have completed God\u2019s plan for me on earth.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-indent: 18.0pt;line-height:normal'>According to the logic of death, the next words should have been \u201cThe End,\u201d for within a few days, Paul knelt on the flagstones of a Roman prison and the executioner severed his head from his body with a sword.<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-indent: 18.0pt;line-height:normal'>He had written his last testimony, but he did not say, \u201cThis is the end of Paul.\u201d Instead, he had purposely added one of those conjunctive words that speaks of a yesterday and connects it to a tomorrow.<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-indent: 18.0pt;line-height:normal'>\u201cI have finished my course.\u2026 <i>Henceforth<\/i> (KJV)\u201d (4:7\u20138).<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-indent: 18.0pt;line-height:normal'>Paul was testifying: \u201cAll of these things were a part of the human biography, but I am going on to another and better and eternal chapter!\u201d For Paul, it was the blessed experience of coming to the next chapter after the last!\u2026<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-indent: 18.0pt;line-height:normal'>Thank God for the gracious chapter still being written, the chapter titled \u201cImmortality.\u201d It is the chapter of God\u2019s tomorrows.
