Ahimoth
Ahimoth
(Hebrew Achimoth’, , brother of death, i e. perh. destructive; Sept. ), a person named with Amasai as sons of Elkanah, a Levite (1Ch 6:25). From 1Ch 6:35, however, it would appear that he was rather the grandson of this Elkanah (through Amasai), and the father of the other Elkanah of 1Ch 6:26. He is there called MAHATH SEE MAHATH (q.v.).
