Albert the Great, Saint
Dominican philosopher, theologian, and scientist, born Lauingen, Swabia, c.1206; died Cologne, Germany , 1280. He taught at Cologne and Paris , where he had Thomas Aquinas among his pupils, and compiled an encyclopedia of the learning of his day. His study of the natural sciences was in advance of his time.
