(Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ) A community founded by Catherine Kaspar, at Dernbach, Germany , 1851 , for the education of the young and the care of the aged and infirm. The community has 345 houses, including schools, hospitals, orphanages, and homes for the aged in Germany , the Netherlands, Czechoslovakia, England , and the United States. The provincial mother-house for America is at Donaldson, Indiana; the total number of religious is 4,008.
