Azaziah
(Hebrews in the prolonged form Azazyathu, , strengthened by Jehovah; Sept. , but v. r. in 2 Chronicles ), the name of three men.
1. One of the Levitical harpers in the Temple under David (1Ch 15:21). B.C. cir. 1043.
2. The father of Hoshea, which latter was the viceroy over the Ephraimites under David and Solomon (1Ch 27:20). B.C. ante 1014.
3. One of the inferior overseers of the Temple offerings under Hezekiah
(2Ch 31:13). B.C. 726.

(2) Father of Hoshea, who was the leader of Ephraim at the time that David enumerated the people (1Ch 27:20).
(3) A Levite who had charge of the offerings brought to the temple in the days of Hezekiah (2Ch 31:13).

1. A Levite musician in the reign of David, appointed to play the harp in the service which attended the procession by which the Ark was brought up from the house of Obed-edom. 1Ch 15:21. (B.C. 1048).
2. The father of Hoshea, prince of the tribe of Ephraim, when David numbered the people. 1Ch 27:20.
3. One of the Levites, in the reign of Hezekiah, who had charge of the tithes, and dedicated things in the Temple. 2Ch 31:13.
