(Hebrews Afsel’, , noble; Sept. ), the son of Eleasah, of the descendants of king Saul, and father of six sons (1Ch 8:37-38; 1Ch 9:43-44). B.C. considerably post 1037. SEE AZAL.

(2) Azel, azel, the King James Version Azal , ‘acel; , Asael; Zec 14:5): A place not far from Jerusalem. There may be an echo of the name in that of Wady Yasul, to the right of Ain el-Loz, in Wady en-Nar.
