Comprises the state of Idaho. Founded on 3 March 1868 as the Vicariate Apostolic of Idaho and Montana. The territory was divided, and it was renamed the Vicariate Apostolic of Idaho on 5 March 1883. Elevated to the diocese of Boise City on 25 August 1893. Suffragan of the archdiocese of Portland , Oregon.
