Defy
Defy
de-f (, haraph, , zaam): In 1Sa 17:10, 1Sa 17:25, 1Sa 17:26, 1Sa 17:36, 1Sa 17:45 (the story of David and Goliath) and kindred passages, this word is used in its most familiar sense – to taunt, challenge to combat (Hebrew haraph). In Num 23:7, Num 23:8 denounce would be a better translation than defy (Hebrew zaam).
