Diaconoftchins
a sect of Raskolniks (q.v.), or dissenters from the Russo-Greek Church. They derived their name from the or deacon Alexander, their founder. He belonged to the Church at Veska, but separated from it in 1706, in consequence of a dispute which had arisen relative to some ecclesiastical ceremonies.
