Dodai
Dodai
(Hebrews Doday’, , prob. another form for Dodo; Sept. v.r. v and v, Vulg. Dudia), an Ahohite, the chief officer of the contingent for the second month under David (1Ch 27:4); probably the same as DODO SEE DODO (q.v.), whose son Eleazar was one of David’s three chief braves (2Sa 23:9; 1Ch 11:12). By some the words , “Eleazar the son of,” are supposed to have accidentally escaped in transcription from the text in 1Ch 27:4 making this person the father of the military character there spoken of.

Dodai
1. (1Ch 27:4) DODO (1Ch 11:12; 2Sa 23:8). Possibly the clause “Eleazar, the son of,” has fallen out before “Dodai” in 1Ch 27:4. Jewish tradition makes Dodo or Dodai the brother of Jesse.
2. DODO of Bethlehem (2Sa 23:24; 1Ch 11:12).
3. Dodai of Issachar (Jdg 10:1).
