Edward Caswall
Oratorian and poet, born Yately, Hampshire, England , 1814 ; died Birmingham , England , 1878 . He received Anglican Orders, 1839 , but coming under the influence of Newman, he resigned his curacy, 1847 , and was received into the Catholic Church . After the death of his wife he became an Oratorian . His works include manuals of devotion, Lyra Catholica, and The Masque of Mary and other Poems.
