Eliphal
(Hebrews Eliphal’, , God is his judge; Sept. v.r. , Vulg. Eliphal), son of Ur (q.v.), and one of David’s famous guard (1 Chronicles 11:35). B.C. 1046. In the parallel passage (2Sa 23:34) he seems to be called “ELIPHELET SEE ELIPHELET , the son of Ahasbai (q.v.), the son of the Maachathite ;” but the names are here greatly confused. SEE DAVID.

e-lfal, eli-fal (, ‘elphal, God has judged): Son of Ur, one of the mighty men of David’s armies (1Ch 11:35). the Revised Version (British and American) in a footnote identifies him with Eliphelet, son of Ahasbai, the son of the Maachathite (2Sa 23:34; ef Davis, Dict. of the Bible, under the word Ur).
