Enumerative Induction

A type of inference from a number of given instances, when these are treated by noting the number of observed coincident happenings of their conditions and their effects, and without attempting to analyze their respective contents or to determine a causal connection between them by means of one or more of the methods of research and verification. The generalization “Every A is B” thus obtained, should be understood with the qualification “Every observed A is B”. This process is used especially in statistical methods. — T.G.
