Eutuchites
EUTUCHITES
A denomination in the third century; so called from the Greek, which signifies to live without pain, or in pleasure. Among other sentiments, they held that our souls are placed in our bodies only to honour the angels who created them; and that we ought to rejoice equally in all events, because to grieve would be to dishonour the angels, their creators.

Eutuchites
(from , good, and , fortune), a heretical sect mentioned by Theodoret as belonging to the 3d century. They held that our souls were placed in our bodies only to honor the angels who created them, that we ought to be afflicted at nothing, and to be equally pleased with vice and virtue. They also taught that Christ was the son of an unknown god.
