a town mentioned in the Talmud (, Erubim, fol. 21, b) as the residence of one Rabbi Joshua; also by Josephus (, War, 5:11, 5) as the native city () of one Tephthmeus, and situated in Galilee – Schwarz adds (Palest. page 178) 20 stadia from Sepphoris (evidently confounding it with the Garisimi, v.r. , of Josepheus, Life, 71), but that the site is now unknown.
